Mātauranga ā-iwi

Reconnection with the whenua, our whakapapa and ngā atua will look different for everyone. We’d like to share three different ways we’ve engaged with our ancestral lands by spending time at the places our tīpuna once occupied.

These accounts are iwi-specific to us as Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Awa, and Ngāti Pūkeko uri. We hope through sharing our experiences, it encourages others to reconnect with the whenua to which they belong, in whatever way that reveals itself.
